Explore Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam during the Dinh and Le dynasties, on a day trip from Hanoi. Marvel at vibrant green rice fields interspersed with limestone formations, a sight that captivates every visitor.

Upon arrival at Tam Coc, embark on a private sampan boat to journey along the Ngo Dong River. Traverse the famous caves featured in “Indochine” — Hang Ca, Hang Giua, and Hang Cuoi.

Visit the tranquil Bich Dong Pagoda nestled amidst blooming lotus ponds, providing stunning panoramic views of the area. Conclude your exploration with a delightful Vietnamese lunch in Tam Coc before returning to your hotel in Hanoi in the afternoon.

Embark on a scenic coach journey through the fertile landscapes of the Red River Delta, culminating in a visit to Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1994. Halong Bay’s breathtaking cluster of islands, adorned with naturally sculpted caves and grottoes shaped by wind and waves, presents a mesmerizing spectacle. Upon arrival, board your ship to explore the myriad limestone islands, each harboring caves of various sizes and shapes. Experience the picturesque sight of junks and sampans gracefully navigating the bay’s crystal-clear emerald waters, blending seamlessly with the sky. Delve into the hidden grottoes nestled beneath towering cliffs for an unforgettable adventure.

Start your day with an early morning Tai Chi session on the upper deck or savor a serene sunrise over Halong Bay’s majestic islands.

Relax with a cup of coffee or tea before embarking on a rowboat excursion to nearby islands. After returning to the junk for breakfast, soak in the stunning rock formations of Halong Bay from the sundeck. Indulge in a light lunch onboard before your return to shore. Your driver will await you at the Halong jetty for the journey back to Hanoi in the afternoon.

Embark on a city tour of Hanoi today, discovering iconic landmarks including the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s inaugural university, the Ho Chi Minh Complex encompassing the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and One Pillar Pagoda, and Tran Quoc Pagoda, renowned as one of Vietnam’s oldest pagodas.

Later this afternoon, proceed to the airport for the short flight to Da Nang.

Upon arrival, transfer to the charming town of Hoi An. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.

Enjoy a walking tour of atmospheric Hoi An today, visiting some of this historic cities popular highlights.

The Old Town of Hoi An is a labyrinth of well-preserved buildings adorned with intricate wooden carvings and colorful silk lanterns. Its iconic Japanese Covered Bridge, built in the 16th century, symbolizes the town’s historical connections and remains a popular landmark. Next up, visit the Chinese Temple, also known as the Assembly Hall of the Fujian Chinese Congregation, a cultural gem that reflects the town’s historical ties with China.

Finish your tour at the Phung Hung Old House, a well-preserved example of a traditional Vietnamese merchant’s residence, offering insight into the lifestyle and architecture of Hoi An’s prosperous past.

This afternoon, you’re free to explore more of Hoi An by yourself  or join an optional tour.

Optional tour: Golden Bridge Tour

On arrival at the foot of Ba Na Mountain, we’ll travel by cable car up to the Marseille station. Then it’s a short walk to the Golden Bridge which appears to be lifted by two “hands of the Gods”. When you’re on the bridge, you’ll feel like you’re walking on the clouds.
Time for taking photos of the breathtaking view. Afterwards, it’s on to a romantic flower garden – Le Jardin D’Amour. The 9 gardens are 9 stories in 9 unique architectural styles.
Next, it’s time to visit Linh Ung Pagoda to admire its sophisticated architecture and the 27m high Shakyamuni statue.
Finally, we’ll catch the cable car down the hill for the transfer back to Hoi An.

Enjoy a day at leisure in Hoi An, exploring the town’s charm or selecting an optional tour.

Optional tour: My Son Sanctuary and Thanh Ha Village Tour

You’ll be picked up at your hotel for a 40-kilometre drive to My Son Sanctuary, a World
Heritage Site. On arrival, get ready to be absolutely astounded by the abandoned and partially ruined Hindu temples constructed by the kings of the Champa era.
After, we’ll return to Hoi An for a cruise down the Thu Bon River.  Enjoy the peaceful and scenic views before stopping off at the famous traditional, Thanh Ha Pottery Village where you’ll get to see the villagers’ daily life.

– A O Show, Hoi An Cooking Class Tour and Hoi An Memories Show cannot be arranged on the same day. Please choose one only.

Fly to vibrant Ho Chi Minh City and embark on a city tour, visiting such landmarks as Notre Dame Cathedral – situated in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City,  the cathedral stands adjacent to the Saigon Central Post Office, another architectural gem from the French colonial period. Stop for a photo op at the Post Office before continuing on to the war Remnant Museum. Next dive right into the colourful Ben Thanh Market, one of Ho Chi Minh’s liveliest areas.

Explore Ho Chi Minh City at your own pace or opt for an optional tour to the Mekong to enjoy an unforgettable experience on the mighty Mekong River.

You will realise quickly why cruising along the Mekong Delta on a boat should be on everyone’s bucket list when travelling to Vietnam.
It is called “The Rice Bowl of Vietnam” because it offers a wide selection of cultural activities including local handcraft and coconut pressing workshops with villagers, cycling through lush rice fields along the water, as well as some down-time chilling in a hammock.
You will also be treated to an authentic lunch.
<!–Mekong Delta is known as “The Rice Bowl of Vietnam” and offers a real experience to the tropical culture of locals. This trip will take you to visit local workshops, a handicraft village and get a unique experience with local activities. Be ready to sail through the coconut trees and take a nap on a hammock in a garden filled with bird chirps and fresh breeze.
You will be picked up at your hotel then take a 1.5-hour transfer to Ben Tre River. Embark on a cruise to brickwork, a coconut processing workshop and a local village making sleep mattresses along the Mekong Delta. Continue taking a motor cart (xe loi) or cycling through the green rice fields and vegetable plains. After lunch, get back to Hung Vuong Pier for returning to Saigon.

After breakfast, check out your hotel and then head to Cu Chi Tunnels, a byzantine maze of underground passages, chambers and booby traps used by both the Viet Minh and the Viet Cong during the Vietnam-US war. The tunnel system had become legendary during the 1960s as a strategic military base with underground community life.

Later this afternoon, continue to the airport for your scheduled flight home.

  • First payment: $300 per person deposit due at time of booking
  • Second payment: $1,000 per person due 7 days after the initial booking.
  • Final payment: Balance due 120 days before your departure date.

If you change your mind within 7 days of making your booking, you can request a full refund of your initial deposit. Please note, after 7 days, our standard terms and conditions apply.

This package includes return flights from Sydney/Melbourne.

Flights from Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth attract a $400 surcharge. 

Airline Selection: We book the best available airlines for your journey, which may include a mix of full-service and low-cost carriers. Specific airline requests can be made at the time of purchase. This includes upgrades to your preferred carrier, premium economy or business class cabins or specific seats. Whilst we will try our best, not all requests can be confirmed.    

Flight Conditions: Flights may not be direct and could involve a maximum of two transits. 

Ticketing Information: Once issued, tickets are non-refundable. Changes are subject to airline rules, airline change fees, and an Asia Vacations Group change fee of $250 per person.

Passenger Details: Please ensure all traveller names are as per passports. This includes all middle names. Errors may incur a name change fee of $150 plus airline charges, or require the purchase of a new ticket.

Flight Schedule Changes: Any changes or cancellations to airline schedules are outside our control. We recommend staying updated with airline schedules before departure. Additional expenses for extended transits or alternative arrangements are the traveller’s responsibility.

Internal Airfares: Local flights included in your itinerary may utilise low-cost carriers without meals or entertainment. Checked baggage is included; any additional baggage fees are payable at check-in.

Booking Considerations: If travelling with others on separate bookings, we may not be able to guarantee all flights are the same due to availability.

Luggage and Fees: You are responsible for your luggage at all times. Excess baggage fees, if incurred, are payable directly to the airline. All tickets will include 20 kg checked baggage per person, plus 7 kg of hand luggage. We recommend travelling with a max 20kg per person due to restrictions on internal flights (where applicable), as well as coach and train transportation. Please note, you will be responsible for handling your luggage at all times as the services of porters are not included.

No-Show Policy: Missing your flight may result in fees including a no-show fee, airline reissue fee, and possible new ticket purchase. Asia Vacations Group charges a $250 admin fee for re-booking assistance.

Price Adjustments: Prices are final at the time of ticketing. Any subsequent changes may result in additional costs due to factors beyond our control, such as currency fluctuations or airline surcharges.

 

Physical Requirements
A reasonable level of fitness is required but it’s more about spending time on your feet rather than covering large distances. You’ll be getting on and off coaches and boats, walking around the sights and climbing some steps.

Tipping
A friendly reminder that tipping is not included in your package. Please be advised that tipping for tour guides, drivers and bellmen are required and will be collected by your travel consultant 7 days before you depart. A gratuity of $10 per person/day can make a big difference to locals employed in the tourism industry as they have done an impeccable job to serve you through your holiday.

Visa & Passport information
It is the traveler’s responsibility to ensure they have a valid passport. The passport must be valid for a minimum of six months from the intended date of return and must have more than 2 blank pages.

A visa is required for travel to Vietnam . The visa is easiest to complete with Asia Vacation Group and just need to pay $160 for single entry for Vietnam

Tour Documentation
Final documentation, including e-tickets and hotel details, will be provided approximately 30 days prior to travel.

Children
Children must be 2 years old or over and share a room with parents at all times. Children are the same price as adults.

Tour Length
The total length of the tour in days includes time spent in flight and is subject to change depending on the flight schedule, please refer to the day by day itinerary for the time spent on land.
