Welcome to Istanbul!
On arrival into Istanbul International Airport (IST), upon entering into the arrivals hall, you will be met by a local representative and transferred to your accommodation.
Spend the remainder of the day at your leisure.
In the afternoon, join the welcome meeting at the hotel lobby with your fellow travellers and Tour Director. Greet the diverse and incredibly tasteful Turkish cuisine tonight on a group dinner (at your own cost), make sure to leave room for delicious desserts.

Cappadocia
After breakfast today, we’ll head to the airport for our flight to Cappadocia. This renowned region in Türkiye (Turkey) is known for its breathtaking landscapes, featuring incredible caves and fairy chimneys—unique formations of eroded volcanic rock and tuff. Our adventure begins in Avanos, celebrated for its premium clay, where you’ll participate in an interactive pottery-making workshop.
After a day of cultural exploration, unwind at your hotel and enjoy dinner with your group.

Spend this morning at your leisure.
If the optional activity of hot-air ballooning (bookable on tour – approx. €250pp) doesn’t interest you, we recommend finding a cafe with a rooftop to watch the spectacular scene of the balloons.
Later, immerse yourself in one of Türkiye’s (Turkey’s) most esteemed traditional crafts with a visit to a carpet-weaving workshop. In the evening, you can unwind at your hotel with dinner, reflecting on the day’s experiences. Alternatively, you might choose to attend a live whirling dervishes performance, an unforgettable display of spiritual ritual, or partake in an optional wine tasting session or Turkish Night show (bookable on tour – approx. €40pp).

Begin your day with an unforgettable visit to the renowned underground city of Kaymakli, where ancient Christians sought refuge from raids and wars for centuries. This unique site reflects the influence of different civilizations and cultures over thousands of years, offering a truly exceptional experience for travellers. The journey then proceeds to Konya, the city of the famous whirling dervishes, who are members of the Sufi order. Here you will have the opportunity to see a Whirling Dervishes performance (bookable on tour – approx. €30pp).

We’ll pause for lunch at a charming local restaurant (at your own expense) before arriving at our hotel late in the afternoon. Antalya, a popular seaside resort, boasts stunning beaches and exceptional service.

Today, we’ll start our journey at Perge, located 15 km east of Antalya, where you’ll find the impressive ruins of the ancient city of Pamphylia. The acropolis here features remarkable mosaics dating back to the Bronze Age. A short drive away is Aspendos, Perge’s sister city, renowned for its remarkably well-preserved ancient theatre. Imagine an amphitheatre that has remained in exceptional condition for over 2,000 years, with a capacity of 12,000 and acoustics that are as impressive today as ever.
After this extraordinary exploration, we’ll return to Antalya to unwind and relax.

This morning, we’ll journey inland to our hotel at Pamukkale, Türkiye’s (Turkey’s) “Cotton Castle.” Here, you can stroll through shallow pools of mineral-rich waters, surrounded by stunning terraces of white travertine. Known for its therapeutic properties, Pamukkale has attracted countless visitors over the centuries. Explore the ancient city of Hierapolis, where you can marvel at the grand amphitheatre, which accommodates 15,000 people and boasts remarkable acoustics.
Afterward, unwind and enjoy the spa or massage services at your hotel.

This morning, we’ll drive to the remarkable ruins of ancient Ephesus, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Take a leisurely walk through this exceptionally well-preserved ancient city and admire the impressive library.
A short drive from these wonders will bring us to the house of the Virgin Mary in the mountains, where it is believed she spent her final days.
Next, enjoy a culinary experience at a charming countryside restaurant known for its delicious Gozleme (at your own expense).
After this cultural journey, we’ll arrive at our seaside hotel in İzmir, where you can fully immerse yourself in Turkish seafood culture and enjoy some raki.

An exciting day of adventure lies ahead. In the morning, we’ll set off for Pergamon, renowned for its healing waters and the ruins of the Asklepion medical centre, a major healing hub in the Roman world.
Next, we’ll explore the ancient city of Troy, famed for its significant role in both mythology and history. Don’t miss the chance to pose with the iconic Trojan Horse before we head to Çanakkale.
We’ll arrive at our hotel just in time for dinner.

In the afternoon, enjoy a scenic drive through the countryside as we travel to Istanbul in comfort.

How to book and Payments
AVG Travels offers you a “Instalment Payment Plan”, you will be required to settle a small deposit followed by a series of instalments when you select to book your departure tour.
- First payment: You will be required to settle $300 per person deposit online through our website link
- Second payment: You will be required to settle the second payment $2,000 per person after 7 days when you receive our company invoice
- Final payment: Final payment will be collected 120 days before your departure
However, you will have 7-day cooling off period. Please refer to “Flexible Cancellation” section.
Flexible Cancellation
If you change your mind within 7 days of making your booking online, you can request a refund of your initial deposit payment. Once your purchase date falls outside of the 7-day period, our standard terms and conditions will apply.
Please ensure that any request to cancel your booking is received via email to [email protected], including the reason for cancellation.
Flight Information
This is a land package only that excludes return international air tickets from Australia.
If you would like to add airfares to your booking, please select the departure city where we have the economy return flights add-on for your selection. If you would like to book the business class or premium class, please contact us anytime and our ticketing expert would assist you. Currently we use Emirates Airlines or similar.
Flight requests, amendments or preferences
We understand customers may wish to request changes to their included airfares. If you wish to fly with a certain airline, land at a certain time or change your flight in other ways we will gladly provide you with a personalized quote tailored to your specific requirements.
We would be more than happy to provide you with a quote for the following requests:
Airline Preferences – You may wish to fly with a particular airline
Cabin Preferences – These include upgrading to premium economy or business class
Extensions (start and end cities must remain the same) – You may request to extend your stay pre or post tour.
Meal Requests – You may request a specific meal for dietary requirements.
Seat Requests – If you would like to request particular seating. However please note, not all airlines allow the selection of pre-purchased seat arrangements.

The accommodation listed is subject to change. Any changes will be of an equal or higher standard. Bedding configurations (double or twin) are requests only. All efforts will be made to meet your preferences however any changes are beyond our control.
Single Supplement
Single supplement is $1,550 per person in addition to the twin share price.
Physical Requirements
A reasonable level of fitness is required. Participants should be comfortable navigating stairs, boarding and disembarking from the coach, and walking reasonable distances, typically around 2 kilometres per day or more. Please disclose any physical conditions at the time of booking to assess suitability for the tour.

Visa & Passport information
It is the traveller’s responsibility to ensure they have a valid passport. The passport must be valid for a minimum of six months from the intended date of return and must have more than 2 blank pages.
AU passport holders:
A visa is required to enter into Türkiye for Australian passport holders – e-visa can be applied for here.
Travellers require a passport valid for at least 150 days from the time of entry.
IMPORTANT: Visa requirements may change at any time without notice. You should contact the nearest high commission/embassy or consulate for the latest details.
Children
Children must be 18 years old or over and share a room with parents at all times. Children are the same price as adults.
15 to 17 year olds are permitted to travel on this tour with their parents.

Travel insurance is recommended to protect yourself against the unexpected. In addition to the support that a policy may provide, you may be asked to present a copy of your travel insurance documentation while traveling.
