Important Information

Physical Requirements
A reasonable level of fitness is required. There is very little walking as the majority of touring will by on a 4X4 safari vehicle. You must be able to comfortably navigate and get on and off a raised 4X4 vehicles, mini vans, boats and canoes. You will also be travelling off road so this is not recommended if you have any back conditions that could be aggravated on bumpy roads. Please disclose any physical conditions at the time of booking to assess suitability for the tour.

Travelling Times and Distances
All travelling times are affected by road conditions, border crossings, detours and weather conditions, therefore on certain days travelling times may be longer than anticipated especially where there is a lot of distance to be covered. Please keep in mind that the time it takes to travel 100 km in your home country is not equivalent to the time it takes to travel 100 km on African roads, therefore we encourage you to sit back and enjoy the spectacular scenery Africa has to offer. Where possible additional stops will be made to ensure your travelling comfort at all times.

Accommodation
We make use of mid-range typical African standard lodge accommodation. Accommodation is situated either in national parks, on the banks of a river, or in other places of interest. The accommodation will be a mix of lodges, chalets and tented camps all with private en-suite bathrooms.

Tipping

Visa & Passport Information
It is the traveler’s responsibility to ensure they have a valid passport. The passport must be valid for a minimum of six months from the intended date of return and must have more than 2 blank pages.

A visa is not required for travel to South Africa or  Botswana for stays up to 90 days total within a 12-month period for Australian, New Zealand or US passport holders.

A visa is required to enter Zimbabwe for Australian, New Zealand or US passport holders This tour requires a multi-entry visa and can be obtained on arrival at VFA airport at a cost of USD55 (subject to change). We strongly advise visitors to have cash in USD for their visas as credit card machines often do not work due to network problems. We do NOT recommend obtaining an e-visa as this will cause lengthy delays in both applying and verifying the application on arrival.
